Uncertainty of life

Life is truely uncertain. I felt it several times, but not this prominently. At least till this week. Earlier this week, we received a phone call to inform us of sad demise of a neighbor. He was around 40 years old. He had a lot of health issues and was in the hospital of some time. Indeed it was disheartening. Life so young was lost. Later this week, I got similar news about a work colleague who met an unexpected end. He was healthy (at least as per the people around him). He was feeling unwell, hence asked his friend to take him to a hospital. The doctor said he was fine and prescribed medications. He still wasn't convinced and was on his way to another hospital. He died on the way. He was in his 30s. When any young person dies, people always come up with conspiracy theories (recent common theory is COVID vaccine). What worries me is that we do not value the life enough. After the person's death everyone praises them, however the departed ones are rarely praised when they are...

Life and death

It was a Sunday afternoon. Everything was quiet. Everyone was enjoying their siesta.  I had my coffee. After that I stood in the balcony. I saw a crow who was struggling to pick up something heavy. I continue to observe the crow. Later, I noticed that crow was dragging the dead body of a pigeon. I was shocked to see that. I thought to myself, Are crows cannibals? Will the crew eat another bird? They do belong to the same species, so will the crow eat the pigeon? Soon, all my questions were answered. I saw that the crow dragged the dead body of a pigeon to a car and started to eat the dead pigeon. There were many crows surrounding this particular crow. They were waiting for their turn to eat the pigeon. Soon the crows were distracted. The reason for their distraction was a cat passing nearby. The crows saw the cat and started flying. The cat ventured near the dead pigeon, probably sniffed the pigeon. Then the cat left from the scene. The crows returned to the scene and started eatin...
