Nostalgia

I was searching for a book for my 8 year old nephew. A book which he will love reading. A book from which he will learn something. I browses through the catalogue and found variery of booka for young readers. Most of these were fantasy novels or fairytales. Most books were written by foreign authors. While browsing, I found the ideal book, "Malgudi days" by R K Narayan. Just the cover brought back plethora of memories. I used to watch the series "Malgudi days" on TV. I was in school and this series used to be showcased on Sunday morning. Each episode would be for 30 minutes including advertisements. It would include adventures abd experiences of characters from a finctional town of Malgudi. The stories were believable and characters were relatable. Stories were short and simple, sometimes with serious undertones. As the book arrived, I jumped on to reading it. I finished it reminiscing my childhood days. Book review: How full is your bucket?

In the beginning of year 2025, I decided that I should start reading more books. For this purpose, I visited my office library.  In our office a library we can borrow a book for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks we have to return the book even if we have not finished reading it. Hence I decided to borrow a book which I can finish within 2 weeks. It should have been a small book which I can quickly read. I pick up a book called " How full is your bucket? " By Tom Rath and Donanld Clifton I have finished reading this book and this is my book. The book focuses on positive aspects of life rather than the negative ones. The book refers to filling the persons mind (bucket) with positive thoughts (diper) to get better outcome.  The book also gives a certain case studies where the positive thoughts or positive interactions resulted in better outcomes.
