Bad day
Not all days are the same. Some days are good, some days are bad.
When the day is good we see that the sun is shining bright. Flowers are blooming. Nature is colourful and delightful. Weather is pleasant. Everything goes well. Everything goes as per the plan. There are no delays. There are no cancellations. Everything fits into the frame. Everything is within our control. The day is filled with positivity and happiness.
On a bad day the sky is cloudy, grey, and gloomy. Flowers are dead just like our dreams and hopes. Nature is dreadful and awful. Weather feels unpleasant and looks like sepia filter has been applied. Every effort goes down the drain. Nothing goes as per the plan. Every move is a disaster. Everything is out of our control. The day is filled with negativity and unhappiness.
Is it really the day or our perception of the day? Sometimes it takes only one thing to go wrong and the whole day turns into a sad circus. If the day begins with a mistake the whole day is lost. If the day begins with a negative emotion, we feel the negativity throughout the day. A calm and happy morning may lead to a happy day. But of course there will be people who will try their level best to ruin your day. Most of the time they surely will succeed.
Can we control our day? Yes and no. We may control our emotions. If we put our mind to it we may supress our negative thoughts and negative emotions. We may keep them at the bay so that we ourselves do not ruin our day. But what about the external factors? Can we control them too? Absolutely not. External factors are beyond our control. However we may still control how they external factors can affect us. If we pay a lot of attention to the external factors they would surely affect the outcome. If we try our best two ignore the external factors then they would not affect us that much.
If we believe "everything is temporary" and "this too shall pass" then only we will be in control of how our day is spent. Each day will bring new hope so live for that hope. Regardless of how difficult yesterday was, the rising sun serves as a reminder that we are still here and that our purpose remains unfinished. By embracing each morning as an inevitable gift, we open ourselves to infinite possibilities and the hope that the best is yet to come.
