History repeats itself with minute changes.



I felt this profoundly this week. This week I was transferred to work with another project. Suddenly, without much warning or notice. It reminded me of what happened 15 years ago. In 2010, under similar circumstances I was transferred from one project to another. 

Here are some more similarities between the events of 2010 and 2015:
1. The decisions were made suddenly and with an immediate effect.

2. To everyone's and my surprise, we never knew that it was my last day at the current project.

3. I moved from one building to the neighboring high security building.

4. I was transferred based on my goodwill.

5. I was expected to miraculously improve the performance of new project.

6. The owners of the project had previously worked with me and were impressed with my work.

7. Both projects had troubles and on the verge of shutting down.

8. Both projects were under scrutiny.

9. I hated being the person of importance.

10. Both projects expected me to be their slave.

Looking back now, I feel that in corporate the characters remain the same, the situations remain the same, but the faces change.

The craze of social media

A couple of days ago I came across something very disturbing.   A colleague showed me a social media post. This post was created by my colleague's friend (OP). The post was about an art created by her brother for her daughter. Normal right? Until it isn't. The OP's brother is a painter an artist. The post shows that her brother had small amount of his blood extracted. This blood was taken on to a palette. He has used his blood to create a painting of his niece (OP's daughter). The girl appears to be three or four years old.  He had painted his niece with his own blood on a canvas. This painting was gifted to the niece on her birthday. In this social media post the entire process of creating this painting was shown right from drawing of blood from the painters vein till gifting this painting to his niece on her birthday. Food review: Blue bird masala penne pasta

While I was buying groceries, I noticed Blue Bird 5 minutes pasta in mast masala flavor. I bought it to try it. The ingredients looked okay. It did not contain refined wheat flour (surprise). Condiments in the taste maker included chilly, pepper, salt, sugar, fenugreek along with other dried vegetables. The penne get cooked in 7-10 minutes. I like my pasta well done, so took about 10 minutes; however al Dante will be within 7 minutes. I also used additional vegetables such as onion, capsicum, carrots, and broccoli. After stir frying the vegetables, I added the pasta and the taste maker. I was feeling adventurous so I added oregano and chilly flakes too. The result was this The pasta tasted delicious. The taste maker works well. Without the vegetables, it would not taste so good. Overall rating: 7/10 Makes a good lazy meal however additional vegetables and condiments are still required.

Uncertainty of life

Life is truely uncertain. I felt it several times, but not this prominently. At least till this week. Earlier this week, we received a phone call to inform us of sad demise of a neighbor. He was around 40 years old. He had a lot of health issues and was in the hospital of some time. Indeed it was disheartening. Life so young was lost. Later this week, I got similar news about a work colleague who met an unexpected end. He was healthy (at least as per the people around him). He was feeling unwell, hence asked his friend to take him to a hospital. The doctor said he was fine and prescribed medications. He still wasn't convinced and was on his way to another hospital. He died on the way. He was in his 30s. When any young person dies, people always come up with conspiracy theories (recent common theory is COVID vaccine).
